Reading Goals/Philosophy

When you reread a classic, you do not see more in the book than you did before; you see more in you than there was before
-Cliff Fadiman

Reading is one of the most important goals you will ever accomplish during your lifetime and becoming a good reader starts early. Every child has an ambition to read, and as a teacher, having students reading with high fluency, accuracy, and comprehension are surely things I shall incorporate inside my classroom. I believe that teachers have a great amount of impact on student’s reading success. I believe that literacy routines are important because a teacher must take full advantage of the time they have in the classroom. I believe that every child has the ability to read and that every teacher should feel that it is their responsibility to teach a child how to read. Reading is the key to life.
