The role of parent in my classroom is a major factor. I will need the parent’s help to show my students how important it is to have a good education. I will need the parents there with the students to help them do the homework and help them read their books at night. Teachers maybe the highest influence on what students learn, but I think parents come in a close second place. There will not be any parent who can say they do not know what is going on in my classroom because I plan on sending out biweekly letters, telephone calls, classroom blogs, progress reports, emails, Facebook groups, and any other method I can use to keep my student’s parents engaged about what’s going on in their students classroom.
